Unlike a dedicated server, which allocates its resources to a single user, shared hosting allows this pool of resources to be divided between several users. This means that users who don't need all the resources can benefit from a more affordable solution for setting up small projects. However, there are also disadvantages: you may be affected by the actions of other users of the same server.

VPS stands for Virtual Private Server. As the name suggests, it's a virtual private server, so you can take full advantage of the machine's resources. In practical terms, virtualization is the division of physical machines into several virtual machines that are clearly partitioned and isolated from each other. The VPS therefore offers the same guarantees as a physical dedicated server, but with greater flexibility. It's more or less the first building block of the Cloud.
