Arteria and Ikoula forge a strategic partnership to strengthen resilience
Arteria, a subsidiary of RTE (France’s Transmission System Operator), and Ikoula, a subsidiary of Sewan Group, have announced a partnership aimed at reinforcing the telecoms diversity of the Reims IKDC1 data center and the redundancy of the French Cloud player's services.
With installation effective from February 2025, Arteria will offer access to its exclusive “Air Force Wan” network and wavelength offerings (10G to 800G) from the data center in Reims.
Ikoula is a long-standing player in the Cloud, dedicated servers and managed services, with its own data centers in Reims (51) and Eppes (02) in France.
Ikoula's partnership with Arteria has a twofold objective:
- Thanks to Arteria's presence, customers hosted by Ikoula will be able to benefit from a new transport operator offering a completely diversified route compared with the other usual operators already in place;
- In addition, this will enable Ikoula to strengthen the resilience and performance of its network infrastructure thanks to a new Arteria connection between Reims and Paris. This strategic change will enable a complete meshing of Ikoula's core network, increasing its capacity and redundancy by using a route that is totally different from the other existing connections.
Relying on RTE's high-voltage infrastructure, which includes 25,000 km of fibre optic cable and almost 3,000 substations across France, Arteria operates an innovative network offering new transmission routes with low latency and a high level of security.
A major progress for professional and strategic uses
“This partnership demonstrates that our network, which is unique in France and, above all, has no SPOF (Single Point Of Failure) with traditional telecoms networks, provides large enterprises and cloud operators with a level of resilience that meets the availability requirements of the most critical services,” stresses Gilles Calligaro, CEO of Arteria. “We are convinced that we will provide Ikoula, its customers and its Reims data center with a sustainable, high-performance service.”
Dũng Ly, CEO of Ikoula, added: “Arteria's solutions are innovative and reliable. As such, Ikoula is proud to host the first PoP (Point of Presence) of their network in the Marne. This is a real asset for our customers and for business connectivity in the region, of which Ikoula itself is the primary beneficiary.”
