Sewan announces acquisition of French Cloud pioneer Ikoula, strengthening its hosting expertise
Paris, September 28, 2021 - French telecoms scale-up Sewan (700 employees; sales 150 million euros) today announced a new stage in its strategic development. Now a major pan-European player aiming to simplify the use of corporate communications, Sewan is pursuing its external growth dynamic through the acquisition of Ikoula, a specialist in hosting, dedicated servers and the Cloud. This acquisition will enable Sewan to strengthen its Cloud expertise and diversify its range of dedicated hosting products. By operating its own datacenters, Sewan is now in a position to control its end-to-end Cloud offering in France and Europe. This is Sewan's 8th acquisition since the company was founded in 2007.
Sewan x Ikoula: a market-leading Cloud offering
A long-standing player in dedicated servers, managed services and cloud computing, Ikoula has more than 6,600 customers in 60 countries and sales in 2020 of 8 million euros. Employing some sixty expert staff based in Boulogne-Billancourt (92) and Reims (51), the hosting provider also has its own datacenters in France, in Reims (51) and Eppes (02), as well as subsidiaries in the Netherlands and Spain. Its Cloud Computing solution, CloudIKOULAONE, is available on 3 continents (Asia, USA and Europe). In addition to an enlarged customer base and additional support for its international deployment, this acquisition will enable Sewan to draw on Ikoula's infrastructure, products and staff, experts in the Cloud, to strengthen its service offering specifically for hosting critical applications and data. This will enable the company to keep its initial promise of offering the best hosting at the best price, while remaining as close as possible to the needs of businesses. Backed by a unique automated solution called Cloud Datacenter, which can be fully modulated and customized via a dedicated interface, Sewan's hosting offering is already highly effective. It will only be enhanced by the integration of Ikoula solutions. Sewan is also an approved HADS (Accredited Health Data Host) provider for the hosting of personal health data.
Sewan x Ikoula: combining skills to simplify corporate telecommunications
« The synergies between Sewan and Ikoula are obvious and make us very enthusiastic about this partnership. Sewan is a formidable growth gas pedal, with real expertise in indirect sales and service simplification. The group and its ecosystem can count on our teams, our experience and our motivation for this new adventure » explains Jules-Henri GAVETTI, co-founder and CEO of Ikoula.
« Through the acquisition of Ikoula, we will be providing our customers and partners with a range of additional services and an experienced Cloud team, while maintaining the ease of use that has always made our offering stand out, since Sewan was founded 13 years ago» adds Alexis de Goriainoff, co-founder and CEO of Sewan.
