Nicolas Mathon, Founding Partner
shares his experience with Ikoula.
When did you first meet Ikoula?
I don't have the exact date, but it must have been seven or eight years ago. When I founded TMSW ten years ago, I was still a student. TMSW was a web agency that supported a few freelance clients. I then turned to Ikoula to host websites for small and medium-sized businesses. In fact, I was using another hosting provider at the time, with which I was not at all satisfied. At a particular event, Ikoula made a very pertinent sales approach. It convinced me to switch all my hosting over to them.
TMSW went dormant just as I was embarking on a career with some of Paris's leading agencies. Thanks to my good experience, I was able to systematically recommend Ikoula. This was most recently the case for the LP Group, where I was Deputy General Manager.
In early 2012, I decided to relaunch TMSW. The business is now different from a simple web agency, as we specialize in community and social for major brands. We support the development of their community platforms. We work on many high-traffic sites, exclusively for major accounts.
Ikoula naturally became a logical partner, given my experience with it. Of course, some of my customers have their own host, but as soon as I'm asked to suggest a host, I work with Ikoula.
What motivated TMSW to choose Ikoula?
Our business is really focused on software engineering. Everything to do with order, hardware, networks, etc., despite our technical knowledge, is not our core business. We rely on Ikoula.
We also appreciate Ikoula's responsiveness. In the pre-sales phase, their support in drawing up bids for our customers by creating good architectures helps us to convince our customers. As for support, we're very confident because we don't run into any problems. The big danger with a hosting company is blackouts. At Ikoula, this has never happened to us. In the event of an incident, we're sure to experience outstanding responsiveness from the technical team.
How are you getting on with Ikoula?
We're very satisfied with the people we deal with at Ikoula. They speak our language and are well aware of our issues. We also appreciate the company's dynamism and its ability to come up with new ideas. At Ikoula, we're not a number, which can happen when you work with very large structures. We prefer to work with a structure on a human scale. We have the same contact person and, inevitably, bonds are forged. The contact is more intuitive, which is very much to be appreciated.
What Ikoula services do you use?
We rarely mutualize hosting for our customers. If we do, it's mainly for certain SMEs, where we recommend the online offer. For dedicated customers, we tend to push the “large accounts” offer, in which case we are the business provider, since the customer signs directly with Ikoula.
What would be your concluding words?
Trust is, in fact, the key word. That's why we work with Ikoula and systematically recommend them.
